Welcome to the Admissions Information Session! Please feel free to put your questions in the chat.

25:36
Hi, thank you for hosting such ahelpful event. I have a question regarding the lsat. Will submitting apps in January/February 2022 and taking the Jan 2022 lsat still be considered in the early cycle for scholarship consideration ?

27:38
Thank you for hosting! If I have an LSAT on file already, but I am retaking in November, how will you treat my application before November? Can I request to be put on hold, or will you begin to review my application regardless? Thank you!

28:25
We can see it!

29:31
Hi Kylie, the last LSAT we will accept for Fall 2022 admission is the February LSAT. Your application must be submitted and complete by the priority deadline of February 1, 2022 in order to receive priority review for admissions and scholarship consideration. The January LSAT score is projected to be reported on February 2, 2022, so after the priority deadline.

31:01
Hi Shiri, per our policy, we hold all applications until we receive all required components, including pending LSAT scores. We will hold your application until we receive your November LSAT score and then place it into the queue for review once we have verified there are no outstanding requirements.

I’m not sure if it’s just me, but I don’t think I’m seeing the correct slide being referred to

If you write an additional essay for either the Frank Rothman or Public Interest Scholars programs, will that essay be read during the initial application review process, or only after an applicant has been admitted?

01:02:21
Marina, you may indicate that you are a Pathways participant on the application and it will be taken into account.

01:02:30
Thank you.

01:04:36
Which is better to apply with: LSAT or GRE?

01:05:57
Jenna, the essays will be read in separate selection processes; however, the selection committees will have access to and will review the entire application. If submitting the essays, you must apply by the priority deadline and include the essay with your application. Essays are shortly thereafter.

01:06:14
*Essays are read shortly thereafter.

01:06:37
If students have completed both the LSAT and the GRE, are they required to share scores from both or can they choose to submit just one?

01:06:39
Alright, thank you.

01:07:44
Samantha, you must report your LSAT scores, and may, but are not required to, submit your GRE scores. All scores from the past 5 years must be reported.

01:08:29
Hi! Thanks for hosting this info session! Should I incorporate “why USC Gould” in my personal statement, or it’s better to put it in a separate document?

01:10:43
Hi Inga, if applicants wish to submit such a statement, we encourage them to address “Why USC” in their personal statements if it makes sense to do so. However, you may also submit a separate, brief statement.

01:11:04
If I have an MPA, will the cumulative GPA reflect both my undergraduate and graduate-level grades?

01:11:22
How do you review re-applicants after the last cycle? Do you compare the new application with the previous one? What new materials do you want to see?

01:12:08
Jasmine, the cumulative GPA will reflect only your undergraduate GPA.

01:13:42
Is there an advantage to applying earlier in the cycle?

01:14:12
We will have access and refer to your previous application. We will be looking for evidence of growth since your last application, and encourage re-applicants to consider ways to strengthen their application. This may be a new letter of recommendation, standardized test score, new personal statement, etc.

01:14:39
Got it! Thank you so much!

01:15:28
Catherine, as we admit on a rolling basis, we strongly encourage applicants to apply as early in the application cycle as they are able. Applications that are submitted by the priority deadline will have priority consideration for admission and scholarships.

01:15:49
Thank you for your help!

01:15:51
Thank you so much for this presentation!

01:15:54
How does USC admissions consider the LSAC converted GPA versus the undergrad institution's GPA?

01:15:58
Fight On!

01:21:19
If only undergraduate grades are calculated for the cumulative GPA, will the graduate level grades be required for the application?

01:24:09
Any graduate-level coursework will be considered in our review, but are not required to complete your application.

01:24:48
My income this year is drastically different than last year but my FAFSA will report last year. How do you advise I alert staff to the difference?

01:30:15
I am sorry if someone had already asked this question. But will this recording be posted later? Thank you.

01:30:52
Yes, a recording will be made available at a later date.

01:32:03
Could you clarify a bit more, several law schools required the FAFSA. Are you saying that for USC Gould the FAFSA is maybe not required unless I'm seeking a work-study job?

01:33:19
thanks :)

01:33:42
Thank you! That was very helpful.

01:35:10
